Fire Extinguisher Service

Kern County is soliciting fire extinguisher service services for a two-year period from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028, covering all county facilities and Battalion stations throughout California. Vendors must submit complete responses using Pricing Schedules A, B, and C to detail unit prices for annual servicing, hydrostatic testing, six-year teardowns, and new equipment replacements across multiple extinguisher types including ABC 2.5#, 5#, 10#, and 20# units, 6 Liter Class K, cartridge operated, and Halotron models, with quantities specified for each service type. Responses must be submitted by May 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. PST, either electronically via Public Purchase under bid PA-161 Fire 2026 or physically to the Kern County Purchasing Department. The County anticipates approximately $100,000 in annual spending but does not guarantee any minimum or maximum value. The award will follow a modified low-price technically acceptable approach, where technical compliance is a binary pass/fail criterion and the lowest-priced responsive offer receives an award after applying preferential scoring adjustments: vendors with at least 50% local employees receive a 2% score enhancement and those with 100% local employees receive a 3% enhancement. Additional preferences may be granted to at-risk employers.
