Full Description

The City of Ames, Iowa (City) is requesting sealed proposals from qualified Vendors for a new Fire Safety Trailer for the Fire Department. The purpose of the Fire Safety Trailer is to provide a mobile unit that can be transported to schools and other community organizations as an aid to educate and train individuals on fire prevention, safety, and emergency response. The trailer will be equipped with various interactive features and simulation tools to provide a hands-on learning experience.
Equipment will be paid for with funds from a Federal grant. Federal terms and conditions will apply.
SEALED PROPOSALS will be accepted by the City of Ames until 2:00 p.m. CDT on December 20, 2024, in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net or delivered to City of Ames, Purchasing Attn: Purchasing, 515 Clark Ave, Ames, IA 50010, City of Ames Contract No. 2025-060. Must be a registered supplier to submit a proposal in AmesBids. Once proposals have been thoroughly evaluated, the winning proposal will be presented to the approving authority for action thereon. Questions and requests for clarification of requirements for this equipment are encouraged. All questions and requests for clarification to the Request for Proposal shall be received in writing no later than 5:00 p.m. CDT on December 13, 2024. Said questions are to be submitted in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net.
The preferred method is to submit your response in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net in the format required, included with these contract documents with all prices and requested data properly filled in, prior to the time and date proposals are due. If technical issues occur while submitting your response, contact the Procurement Specialist for the Request for Proposal and determine an alternate method to receive the submission. Failure to submit the required information may deem the submission non-responsive. The submission shall include acknowledgement of receipt of all addenda. Proposal components shall be as called for in the technical requirements.
The schedule represents the City's best estimate of the schedule that will be followed. If a component of this schedule is delayed, the rest of the schedule will be shifted accordingly. The approximate contract schedule is as follows:

The prices quoted herein are exclusive of all taxes such as sales and use taxes. The City of Ames is exempt from the following taxes: State of Iowa Sales and Use Taxes by Certificate No. 85-499, and Manufacturer’s Federal Excise Tax by Registration No. A-102678.
