Solicitation # 5740
The City of Redding is soliciting proposals for the off-site shop inspection and overhaul of two Sulzer boiler feedwater pumps, two WEG motors, and two Fisher recirculation valves and their actuators. The scope of work includes the disassemble, clean, inspect, and overhaul (DCI) process, with the contractor managing all shipping, packaging, and handling of equipment to and from their facility. The City is not required to award to the lowest cost proposer. Bidders must provide a bid security of 10%, along with payment and performance bonds of 100% and a maintenance bond of 50%. Proposals must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. PT on December 4, 2026, and must include a separate sealed envelope for the project costs and fee schedule. This amendment for the Firing Range Maintenance Services at JFK airport, managed by the Department of Homeland Security, extends the RFQ deadline to November 24, 2015, and provides a revised Statement of Work. The updates clarify specific cleaning frequencies and task alignments, such as combining ventilation power washing with Task 2 and reducing the frequency of ceiling grid and baffle cleaning to align with rubber and lead mining schedules. It also specifies the placement of tacky mats at the range entrance and exit to mitigate lead tracking and confirms that wipe sampling must remain below 200 micrograms in the ready area. The agreement clarifies that bullet trap maintenance is excluded as it is handled under a separate contract, and brass removal remains the responsibility of CBP. Contractors are permitted to recycle or dispose of mined lead and copper legally, provided materials are removed from the premises within five business days. Additionally, the amendment allows for the costs associated with the one-time removal of insulation above the drop ceiling to be spread across the base year bid pricing for payment purposes.
