The Coastal Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (CORE MPO) in Georgia is seeking proposals to enhance flood modeling capabilities within its transportation planning framework, specifically focusing on expanding Phase I flood modeling tools to support the newly incorporated areas of Bryan County and Effingham County. The project aims to improve the resilience and security of the transportation system by integrating considerations such as land use, environmental impacts, economic factors, community livability, and equitable development, especially for disadvantaged communities. Key deliverables include compiling an inventory of stormwater data and models across the MPO jurisdictions, upgrading an online GIS vulnerability application for the expanded area, developing a training module for planners on utilizing these tools, and creating an infrastructure strategy guide with a financial analysis to address stormwater runoff issues in transportation projects. The contract, with a value estimated between $500,000 and $1,500,000, is open for responses until April 4, 2025. Interested parties are encouraged to submit questions to Pamela Everett via email. The project emphasizes a comprehensive approach to flood risk management within transportation planning, ensuring that future infrastructure investments are resilient, cost-effective, and equitable across the expanded MPO boundary.

The Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) on behalf of the Coastal Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (CORE MPO) is requesting proposals to expand Phase I flood modeling tools to inform the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and other planning processes that will include the new portion of the MPO boundary. These tools will ensure the MTP's goal of enhancing the resiliency and security of the transportation system by encompassing considerations such as project prioritization, land use, environment, economy, community livability, and equitable improvements to disadvantaged communities. Phase II will expand out to the new areas in the CORE MPO Metropolitan Planning Area boundary for Bryan County and Effingham County. Expected products will include an inventory of available stormwater data and models of MPO jurisdictions, improved online vulnerability GIS application in the expanded MPO boundary, training module for planners in CORE MPO jurisdictions on how to use study products, and an infrastructure strategy guide with a financial component to identify cost requirements to mitigate stormwater runoff challenges in Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) projects. Please submit the written questions through Kieron Coffield at contact@example.gov.
