Full Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A SOLICITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The United States Special Operations Command intends to modify the current Flyer contract listed above. This modification will utilize the option CLIN which is for the development of SOF modifications to the Generation II vehicle which includes but is not limited to increased load caring capacity; expanded cargo capacity; load distribution device; lock and ride height suspension; two NATO litter rack; optimized power plant and multi fuel capability. This modification will not increase the originally negotiated ceiling. This modification is to perform SOF modifications to the Generation II vehicle. The original ordering period of the contract with options expires in August 2009 and will be extended to reflect this modification. It is in the best interest of the government to use the incumbent contractor, Flyer Defense, LLC, for modifications to this effort. Continuation and follow-on of current support by Flyer Defense, LLC, will allow the government to fulfill requirements for continued support for Program Management for the Generation II vehicles. In order to maintain continuity of existing services, Flyer Defense, LLC is the only contractor capable of meeting the governments requirement due to the proprietary data associated with the effort. This notice is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition. Written inquiries or comments regarding this announcement shall be emailed to the POC listed above.
