The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through its National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and specifically the Division of Adolescent and School Health, plans to award a sole source contract to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network located in Fairfax, VA. This contract aims to develop a thoroughly researched and publishable report or article addressing socio-ethnic, economic, and health disparities in food allergies. The vendor will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive literature review, compiling relevant articles and reports, and then developing an article that summarizes findings, highlights key disparity issues, provides insights on future research directions, and outlines implications for schools and school personnel. A critical component includes securing external resources for researching and writing the document while ensuring the work meets CDC's scientific standards and relevance to educational settings. The procurement will be conducted under simplified acquisition procedures with a 12-month performance period, classified under NAICS code 611710. The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network is required to demonstrate leadership in food allergy research and policy development, with an established history of collaboration with medical professionals, government entities, and educational stakeholders such as school nurses and administrators. The organization should have experience producing resources and tools endorsed by or developed in partnership with these groups. Although the action is sole source and not open to competitive bids, other qualified entities may submit written notifications to the CDC by the designated deadline for consideration.
