The State of Minnesota is issuing a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) to establish a long-term contract with one or more Contractors capable of supplying a wide range of food products, including fresh, frozen, dry, and canned items, primarily for the Minnesota Department of Corrections and other state institutions participating in cooperative purchasing. Bidders must be able to deliver these products across the entire state at contracted rates and provide sufficient staff for customer service, order processing, and contract management. The State retains the discretion to award multiple contracts if deemed beneficial and may also consider existing NASPO or other contracts that align with the state's interests, potentially opting to participate in those agreements instead of or alongside this solicitation. Responses must be submitted exclusively through the Supplier Portal by the specified deadline of January 15, 2025, and non-electronic or email submissions will not be accepted. Prospective respondents are encouraged to submit any questions in writing by November 27, 2024, to the designated contact, Jennifer Bartle, with all inquiries addressed via an addendum. The process emphasizes the importance of reviewing all related documents, including the RFP content, attachments, and sample contract, and highlights the need for complete submission of all required attachments. The contract size is estimated to range between five and twenty million dollars, and the solicitation is managed by the Minnesota State Procurement Office.
