The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, requ817151ires a FORTUS 250 MC HIGH PRECISION 3D PRINTER AND SOFTWARE, MANUFACTURED BY STRATASYS LTD. to be furnished and delivered to our Beltsville, MD location. This requirement is a sole source to Prism Engineering, LLC in Horsham, PA 19044. Prism Engineering, LLC is an authorized reseller/dealer for the Stratasys Ltd. Fortus 250mc 3D Printer and Software. The USDA Environmental Microbial and Food Safety Laboratory (EMFSL) in Beltsville, MD and the United States Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) in Natick, MA, are collaborating on development and validation of portable handheld imaging devices for contamination and sanitation inspection of food processing and preparation surfaces and for food safety audit applications. The joint research and development involves design and fabrication of a prototype handheld imaging devices for which the US Army NSRDEC has already produced some prototype components using a Fortus 250mc 3D Printer. It is critical that the prototype components being developed in both locations are fabricated using identical 3-D printers and software to allow successful integration of the prototype components needed to develop and validate the handheld imaging devices for food safety inspection and applications. This procurement will be solicited as a small business set-aside basis. Reference North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) code: 541551, $27.5 Million. THIS NOTICE INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The purchase made will be made under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(ii) simplified acquisition procedures, Brand Name (See attached Justification). This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
