Fox Farm WRR Treatment: TU 3 Fuel Treatment and TU 1 Pile Burning

The Ministry of Forests for the Province of British Columbia is soliciting an operational services contract for the Fox Farm Wildfire Risk Reduction project, specifically focusing on fuel treatment in TU 3 and pile burning in TU 1. The primary objective is to reduce wildfire hazards and improve suppression opportunities through hand treatment methods, including thinning, pruning, and piling to create a fuel break across approximately 39.9 hectares. The contractor is responsible for completing all tree thinning, ladder fuel management, and surface fuel cleanup, ensuring that all piles are tended during burning for complete consumption. The scope also requires the protection of mountain bike trails, structures, and utility infrastructure, with strict soil disturbance limits for TU 3. The contract requires the contractor to provide a Field Supervisor and a certified Faller Supervisor, with all fallers handling trees over 6 inches in diameter meeting BCFSC, CAGC, or BCWS certification standards. Mandatory requirements include a valid Tax Verification Letter from the Ministry of Finance, a minimum of 2 million dollars in Commercial General Liability insurance with a sudden and accidental pollution endorsement, and adherence to the BC Forest Safety Council SAFE Company Program. Payment is based on a unit rate per hectare and is contingent upon the Province's inspection and acceptance of the work within designated payment areas. All financial transactions are conducted in Canadian dollars and are subject to the Financial Administration Act.
