Fresno High School New Cafeteria

The Fresno Unified School District is forecasting the construction of a new 17,017-square-foot Cafeteria and Student Union building at Fresno High School, located at 1839 North Echo Avenue, Fresno, California. The facility will feature a fully functional kitchen, dining areas, restrooms, an elevator, a snack bar, a walk-in refrigerator, a freezer, and dedicated dry storage space. The design provides interior seating for approximately 626 students distributed across the first-floor dining area, a student union and snack bar level, and a second-floor dining area. Additionally, the project includes the installation of four outdoor shade structures to support student gathering and outdoor dining. The project is classified under NAICS code 236220 and has been filed for a categorical exemption from environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15314, as it is considered a minor addition to an existing school that does not significantly increase student capacity.
