Full Description

The City of Houston is seeking a vendor to wrap a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe to change its exterior color from black to blue. The process begins with a full inspection of the vehicle’s body and existing equipment. All non‑covert police lighting—including grill lights, bumper lights, rear hatch lights, mirror lights, and any auxiliary LED modules—will be carefully removed. Each mounting point will then be assessed for cosmetic or structural impact. Every part of the exterior that is painted black will be wrapped. Any holes, scratches, or surface imperfections left behind from light removal will be repaired. This includes filling and smoothing openings, correcting paint scuffs, and ensuring all affected areas are leveled and ready for wrap application. The light assemblies located beneath both side mirrors need to be removed, and any underlying body damage must be repaired prior to applying the wrap. Additionally, the lights in the front bumper, the lower rear bumper, and the lights positioned on both sides of the rear license plate must also be removed. All damage beneath these light fixtures should be properly repaired before the vehicle is wrapped. Photos attached to bid. Once the body is properly prepared, the vehicle will be fully wrapped in the selected shade of blue, ensuring clean lines, proper adhesion, and a factory‑grade finish. After wrapping, the Tahoe will undergo a final quality check to confirm uniform coverage and the successful removal and repair of all former police‑light mounting areas. No removal of old wrap is needed. Vendors need to be located 50 miles of the Houston-Sugarland-Baytown metropolitan statistical area. Vendor will be responsible for service and will not contract out to a third party for completion. Approved colors to be used: KPMF K75441 Excelsior Blue Gloss Cast VWS IV KPMF K75469 Blue Black Iridescent Gloss Cast VWS IV 3M Gloss Boat Blue (Series 2080) Alternate colors must be approved by requestor before installation Internal Reference #: 10359865 P09____________ ronald.laborde@houstontx.gov
