The Love Lane Pump Station (90 Love Lane, Manchester, CT 06040) is a critical sewage pump station serving the Town of Manchester. Continuous operation of the station is required to prevent backups and protect public health and the environment. During a utility power outage, the station must continue to pump peak flows and maintain monitoring and alarm functions. A September 2, 2026 load study established the electrical demands of the station, including the existing 3 HP pumps and miscellaneous loads. The study confirmed the need for a permanently installed standby diesel generator capable of starting and running the station loads within the voltage and frequency dip limits required by code, with automatic start and transfer in 10 seconds or less (NFPA 110 Level 1, Type 10). The generator, dual-wall sub-base fuel tank, and automatic transfer switch must be installed at or above the base flood elevation plus 2 feet (or the stricter applicable elevation). On-site fuel storage must support a minimum of 48 hours of operation at 100 percent of the generator's standby rating without refueling. Alarm contacts for generator run, fail-to-start, low fuel, high fuel, rupture basin, ATS position, and common alarm must be provided for connection to the existing station telemetry system. This project provides a complete turnkey solution—generator, sound-attenuated enclosure, tank, transfer switch, concrete pad, wiring, startup, testing, training, and initial fuel fill—to ensure reliable emergency power for the Love Lane Pump Station in accordance with NEIWPCC TR-16, NFPA standards, and Connecticut requirements.
