The purpose of this project is to replace aged pipelines within the City of Jurupa Valley, California. Due to the waterlines age and the existing materials used, these sections of piping experience frequent leaks that require extensive maintenance, as reported by the Districts Operations staff. The pipeline replacement will improve system hydraulics by replacing the existing 2-inch and 6- inch diameter waterlines in Lindsay Street with the proposed 8-inch diameter waterlines, which is theDistricts minimum standard for replacement. The pipeline replacement will include approximately 2,560 feet of 8-inch diameter waterline from Mission Boulevard to Ben Nevis Boulevard.
The project consists of trenching, backfill, and compaction work to facilitate the replacement of existing waterlines, replacement of existing water meter boxes, fire hydrants, air valves, and connections to the existing water system. Restoration of surfaces such as pavements, lawns, and parkways will be performed, as well as protection and support of existing above and below-grade facilities and utilities.
Beneficiaries of the project are Jurupa Community Service District residential customers who will no longer experience service interruptions.
