FY26-DDOT-IPMA-Benning Road & Bridges Transportation Improvements

The Benning Rd Bridges and Transportation Improvements Phase 1 Project involves replacing the structurally deficient Benning Road NE bridge that crosses over DC-295 and CSX freight rail tracks, with the goal of enhancing safety, structural integrity, and transportation efficiency. The project also includes significant modifications to the interchange between Benning Road NE and DC-295 to improve traffic flow and access for all users. Additional work extends along Benning Road NE between 34th Street and Minnesota Avenue, encompassing targeted safety enhancements and infrastructure upgrades at the Anacostia Freeway intersection and surrounding areas. All construction activities will follow the detailed plans and specifications outlined in the contract documentation to ensure alignment with engineering standards and public safety requirements. This initiative is part of the District of Columbia Department of Transportation’s long-term infrastructure improvement plan under fiscal year 2026.
