FY26-DDOT-IPMA-Rehabilitation of Theodore Roosevelt Bridge

The contract entails the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, specifically Bridge No. 1200 over the Potomac River, with a focus on enhancing multi-modal safety for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project includes the installation of approximately 300,000 square feet of new bridge deck, along with deck overlays for approach structures and full roadway replacement. Sidewalks will be widened to provide a 10-foot clear passage and equipped with 42-inch-tall pedestrian railings and matching traffic barriers to ensure safety. New roadway lighting will be installed to harmonize with the existing light intensity, and all sign structures will be relocated with updated signage.
