FY26 Parks Turf & Fields Installation at Veterans Park and Drakes Creek Park

Background The City of Hendersonville is issuing a solicitation for the installation of turf and fields at Veterans Park and Drakes Creek Park as part of their FY26 Parks initiative. The project aims to enhance recreational facilities in the area, aligning with the city's mission to provide quality parks and recreational opportunities for its residents. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the complete installation of artificial grass FieldTurf, including all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment. The scope includes: 1. Acceptance of prepared sub-base. 2. Coordination with related trades for integrated installation. 3. Installation of FieldTurf DoublePlay Natural, which includes polyethylene fibers tufted into a perforated backing and infill materials consisting of graded sand and ambient rubber. 4. Compliance with ASTM standards for testing various properties of the turf system such as denier, pile height, tuft bind, grab tear strength, and water permeability. 5. Installation must adhere to NCAA rules and standards for athletic fields. 6. Warranty coverage for defects in materials and workmanship for eight years post-completion. Period of Performance The contract period is set to begin upon award and is expected to be completed by January 31, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed at Veterans Park and Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville, TN. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Tennessee with a minimum of five years' experience in constructing athletic fields. They must have completed at least twenty-five comparable projects in the last five years using laser grading technology. Additionally, bidders must provide documentation verifying their qualifications and experience as well as details on supervisory personnel who will oversee the project.
