The US Forest Service plans to award a sole source contract to PND Engineering, Inc., based in Juneau, Alaska, for architectural, engineering, and technical design services related to the GAOA Anan Wildlife Observatory Reconstruction Phase 2 on the Tongass National Forest. PND Engineering has already provided structural engineering construction drawings, specifications, and geological and geotechnical consultation for the final construction documents. Due to Alaska regulations governing registered architects and engineers, only the original engineer may perform site adaptations and field alterations to sealed documents without undergoing a lengthy approval process, which supports the sole source justification. This action is not a request for proposals or quotations; however, firms that believe they can meet the service requirements are invited to submit a written response within 10 days of the notice’s publication. Responses must include company identification, contact details, SAM UEI Number, and a capabilities statement demonstrating their ability to fulfill the requirements. The government retains sole discretion in deciding whether to compete the contract based on these responses. The contract work will be performed in Wrangell, Alaska, under solicitation number 1240BH24Q0009, with the Tongass National Forest, Department of Agriculture, managing the award.
