Gas Detector System

The Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 is conducting market research through a Request for Information to identify qualified small business vendors capable of supplying three dual-purpose Gas Detector systems designed for ultra-sensitive toxic gas detection in harsh industrial and field environments. The systems must be brand new, not refurbished, and either the Honeywell SPM Flex Gas Detector or an equivalent product that meets or exceeds its technical specifications, with the government retaining the right to reject any submission deemed not equal. Each unit must detect over 30 toxic compounds including chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, phosgene, and hydrazine at parts-per-billion levels using colorimetric Chemcassette® tape technology, integrate with the VIPER system via 4-20mA, USB, or Ethernet outputs, and be IP65 certified for dust and water resistance. The units must weigh less than 10 pounds, feature a high-visibility sunlight-readable color LCD display, operate on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery providing at least six hours of continuous runtime, and function reliably in temperature ranges from -4°F to 122°F, while complying with UL/CSA Class I, Div 2 standards for hazardous locations. Every system must be accompanied by a certificate of factory calibration. All submissions require complete technical specifications, detailed product information, and product images, and must include all costs including shipping, with no separate line items permitted.
