This effort is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10 and not a solicitation; no contract award is anticipated from this initiative, and no funds are currently available. The government is seeking information on potential vendors capable of producing the item from scratch, including all associated activities such as component procurement, inspection, testing, packaging, shipping, supply chain management, and addressing declining manufacturing sources. Nonrecurring engineering costs may be required to qualify as an approved source, and unit pricing will be determined at the time of any future contract award. The estimated requirement is 19 units. The North American Industry Classification System code is 336412 with a size standard of 1,500 employees, and the government is actively encouraging participation from all business sizes and categories, including small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone businesses, and women-owned small businesses. Responses must be submitted by August 6, 2026, through the designated vendor interest button, and all communications should be directed to the workflow email provided. The place of performance is Tinker AFB, OK, and the activity falls under the Department of Defense, specifically the Department of the Air Force and Air Force Material Command. This market research aims to assess competition and inform future acquisition strategy, including the potential to set aside the requirement for small businesses or break it into separate awards by airframe.
