AI Contract Overview
The contract concerns the procurement of 42 units of sterile, Z-folded medical gauze, NSN 6510-01-695-5824, designed for wound packing, hemostatic agent backing, compression bandaging, and minor bandaging. Each unit is a 1-ply, 3-inch by 5-yard gauze strip with an embedded X-ray detectable line, vacuum-sealed in rugged, low-cube packaging to ensure durability and protection. All units must be sterile, white, and soft, with a mandatory 60-month shelf life, and no more than nine months may have elapsed from manufacturing to government delivery. Packaging must be commercial as specified, with each unit sealed in a protective container and packed in commercial shipping containers suitable for common carrier transport at the lowest cost, including export packaging when required. Marking must strictly follow Medical Marking Standard No. 1, superseding MIL-STD-129, with each container labeled with the lot (control) number and manufacturing date prefixed by "MFD". Preservation and packaging coding must comply with MIL-STD-2073-1E, and vacuum-sealed packaging is explicitly required. Delivery is due within 20 days after order placement, with FOB destination terms placing transportation responsibility and risk on the contractor until receipt at the designated location, which is tied to the Medical Supply Chain MD Surg FSF at 700 Robbins Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. The contract is a fixed-price solicitation under SPE2DS-26-T-036M, issued by the Department of Defense through DLA Troop Support, with a response deadline of May 6, 2026. Invoicing must be conducted electronically via Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF), and all technical and quality requirements are sourced from the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements referenced under RA001. Compliance with FAR and DFARS clauses is mandatory, including provisions for safeguarding controlled unclassified information, cybersecurity incident reporting, and restrictions on foreign purchases. The contracting officer’s representative is not explicitly named, but Kendall Jones of DLA serves as the primary buyer contact. The contractor must adhere to all labeling, preservation, and packaging standards under MMS No. 1 and MIL-STD-2073-1E, and must disclose any hazardous materials per DFARS 252.223-70
