U.S. Customs and Border Protection intends to issue a sole source award to Empire Power Systems for the service agreement on three Caterpillar model C15 generators. The generators have a maximum rated horsepower of 546, are 350KW size, operate on diesel fuel and have and compression ignition. The service agreement shall meet all of the required maintenance that is listed in the maintenance manuals for these generators to ensure that they are properly maintained and ready for use. The generators will require Empire Power Systems to maintain their reliability and ensure that the equipment is not in-operative, the maintenance manuals that were provided during the installation are specific to their equipment. If the generators were not in working condition during a power failure, it would cause equipment failure, stop flight operations and maintenance on the aircraft.
