THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source, to: RAPiD Genomics LLC 747 SW 2nd Ave, Suite 314, IMB #14 Gainesville, FL 32601 Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure the following items: Statement for Genotyping of 202 - Saccharum Spp. individuals through capture sequencing technique Order Sugarcane Production Research Unit USDA-ARS, Canal Point, FL 33438 A total of 202 Saccharum hybrids clones will be genotyped using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based capture sequencing technique through a well experience vendor. Capture Exom regions of sugarcane hybrids and design to hybridize to exom regions of sugarcane hybrids then sequence the libraries using latest model appropriate illumina or pacbio genome sequencer. This work will include library preparation, pair end sequencing using genome sequencer, and subsequent bioinformatics. Bioinformatics includes removal of low quality reads, alignment of reads to Sorghum bicolor and sugarcane reference genome and without reference genome, statistics of tag data productions, and genomic variants identification. Data needs to be delivered in the form of raw sequence data and SNPs genotypes for further Analysis. Final data needs to be delivered by the 60 days from the genomic DNA accepted by the facility. Qualified vendor should have previous record to do this kind of work on sugarcane. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541715; the small business size standard is 1000 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
