The Georgia Department of Administrative Services on behalf of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service is seeking proposals from responsive and responsible suppliers to provide Complete Healthcare Management and Operation of the Georgia War Veterans Home. The Georgia War Veterans Home (GWVH) is composed of a campus of approximately 77 acres with more or less than 23 acres located at the main campus in Milledgeville and about 54 acres located nearly four 4.0 miles from the main campus as a recreation area. The GWVH is currently a 262-bed skilled nursing home facility permitted by the State of Georgia and certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide skilled nursing care to aged and infirm Georgia war veterans in five buildings, which include the Richard B. Russell Building with 59 sub-acute therapy beds, the Carl Vinson Building with 48 beds, the Pete Wheeler Building with 24 Alzheimer's beds, the Joe T. Wood Building with 117 beds and the new transitional care unit with 14 sub-acute therapy beds.
