Geotechnical Investigation for Point 1 ADA Fishing Pier (Extension)

The California Department of Parks and Recreation Inland Empire District is initiating a geotechnical investigation for the Point 1 ADA Fishing Pier Extension at Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Riverside County. The primary objective of this project is to maintain reliable, year-round ADA-compliant fishing access for visitors with disabilities despite seasonal and long-term water level fluctuations. To support the design and structural recommendations for the pier extension, the scope of work includes conducting one engineering boring and one Cone Penetration Test sounding. These activities will be performed upland near the shoreline, and the project specifically excludes any work within the submerged lakebed. The project is classified under NAICS code 541360 and is currently listed as a forecast. It is designated as a Categorical Exemption under CEQA Class 6, Section 15306, as it involves soils and structural engineering tests with no anticipated significant environmental impacts.
