The County of Riverside Transportation Department proposes to resurface approximately 3,070 feet of Gibson Avenue from Nuevo Road to 11th Street and resurface approximately 1,860 feet of Contour Avenue from 11th Street to Hansen Avenue, in the Nuevo area of Riverside County. Gibson Avenue is a two-lane road with width varying from 28 to 29-feet and Contour Avenue is a two-lane road with width varying from 24 to 25 feet. The proposed work will consist of pulverizing in place the existing Asphalt Concrete (AC) pavement on Gibson Avenue and excavating the existing AC pavement on Contour Avenue, performing moisture conditioning and recompacting of existing material, and paving with Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete. The proposed project will also include: • Reconstruction of AC dike. • Reconstruction of AC driveways. • Extension of a culvert pipe to avoid erosion around a power pole. • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing. • Utility valve can adjustments. • Re-striping of roadway, including pavement markers/reflectors. • Salvage/removal of existing signs and installation of new signs. No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will remain within the existing footprint of the roadway and within County limits.
