--Government's Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement.

The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to award to Olympus America, Inc., 3500 Corporate Parkway, Center Valley, PA on a sole source basis, for the purchase of laboratory equipment for a Turboscan High-Speed Microscope Slide Sca nning System. This is for the continuation of a current ongoing research project. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other source would result in substantial delays and disruption of a project already in progress and would also increase the o verall cost to the Government. There is no solicitation number, for reference use PR Number W74MYF8007N067-090. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for a competitive quote. Any response to this notice must be submitted in writing to the Government and show clear and convincing evidence that another source i s capable of meeting the Governments requirements and that competition of the requirement would be advantageous to the Government. If no written responses are received at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this response, the purchase will b e awarded without further notice. See Note 22.
