Description:
Commercial Wharf construction at the fishing harbour of Grande-Entrée in Magdalen Islands Region includes, without limitation, the demolition of the section of commercial wharf made of creosoted wooden piles wharf and installation of a floating boom to retain drifting wood, disposal of demolition material made of creosoted wood in an authorized site, excavation of contaminated soils surrounding the existing wharf to build granular foundation and installation of a containment curtain to retain suspended solids for excavation work near water course, soils characterization and bagging or loading in watertight ben for disposal of excavated soils contaminated greater than A-B criteria and CEF at authorized site outside Magdalen Islands unless a local site can in situ treat contaminated soils, reconstruction of commercial wharf using CCA treated wood cribs and supply of granular material, grading and compaction work of services area behind new wharf.
The services of the Contractor shall begin after contract award. The expected completion date of this project is April 15th, 2025.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the sites and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site to take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
