Greystone Cypress Lane Forecourt Fountain Restoration Project

The City of Beverly Hills Public Works Department is seeking to prequalify trade contractors for the Greystone Cypress Lane Forecourt Fountain Restoration Project at the historic Greystone Mansion. The project involves the replacement of fountain equipment, including circulation and treatment systems, piping modifications, and the installation of mechanical equipment and associated appurtenances. The selected prime contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment, as well as coordinating with other trades to ensure project completion. To qualify, contractors must hold a C53 Swimming Pool license or a combination of C-36 Plumbing and C-10 Electrical licenses and must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. Prequalification requires a demonstrated history of at least four similar projects completed within the last ten years, one of which must be at a historic site. Applicants must submit a comprehensive package via PlanetBids by November 3, 2026, including financial statements, a notarized statement of bonding capacity, and detailed organizational and performance history. The City intends to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. Successful bidders will be required to provide a 10 percent bid security, as well as performance and payment bonds each totaling 100 percent of the contract amount. Additionally, the contractor must pay prevailing wages and maintain required insurance coverages, including Workers Compensation. A five percent retention will be withheld from progress payments. Evaluation for prequalification is based on scoring categories related to business history, organizational performance, and compliance with safety and labor laws.
