Full Description

The Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), General Services Administration (GSA), is undertaking an initiative to modernize the supply chain capabilities of its Office of General Supplies and Services (GSS). GSS is adopting a new business model to provide variable levels of service depending on the needs of its customers. This new strategy, and a desire for greater business agility, is driving the need for GSS to leverage best practices in supply chain management and update its current leg-acy information systems environment. Supply chain systems modernization is a key part of the strategic initiative sup-porting GSS business goal to become more agile, flexible, and competitive as a supply chain provider. GSS has determined that the best approach for systems modernization is to use a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution rather than transforming legacy systems. GSS is also considering Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for the solution. GSS intends to transition from the legacy application environment to this new systems environment by 2014. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine if an applica-tion solution or solutions exist in the market that will fulfill GSS's requirements for a fully integrated Supply Chain Modernization System solution.
