The Department of the Interior is forecasting a project to install rinse racks at the Fort Pickens Preservation Shop and NLO Maintenance Compound. This initiative aims to mitigate vehicle and equipment damage caused by frequent flooding on Fort Pickens Road and constant exposure to salt air, as current storage capacity is insufficient and existing GSA car wash limitations do not adequately protect vehicle undercarriages. This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 811192. Interested parties can coordinate with the point of contact, Rick Clark, or the National Park Service Contract Support Center regarding this requirement.

Full Description

Fort Pickens Road floods several times a year and our park owned equipment and GSA leased vehicles are suffering a higher than acceptable level of damage as a result. We do not have enough storage to keep all of our equipment out of the daily salt air. GSA only allows for 1 car wash per month and that does not always cover the undercarriage of vehicles. The proposed rinse racks rinse the entire vehicle or piece of equipment including the undercarriage.
