The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive quality assurance auditing support for its program assessing human exposure to air pollutants. This contract will involve executing regular audits of complex experimental systems and equipment used in clinical research facilities, focusing on gaseous pollutants, aerosols, environmental, and physiological data acquisition subsystems. The contractor is expected to employ EPA-approved procedures for scheduled audits, contribute to the development and refinement of audit techniques, and perform unscheduled audits on short notice. Expertise in both air pollutant measurement methods and medical instrumentation is essential due to the nature of the systems being evaluated. The procurement will take place under full and open competition, with the EPA planning to award a cost-plus fixed fee, level-of-effort term contract lasting 60 months, consisting of a base year plus four one-year options. The solicitation was expected to be issued around June 1, 2006, with proposals due approximately 30 days later. This opportunity follows a previous contract with Zedek Corporation, which will expire in January 2007.
