Full Description

Flathead National Forest - Tally Lake Ranger District, Hand Creek Bridge Replacement. Interested Offerors are encouraged to visit the site on their own time before winter weather restricts access. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price construction contract for replacement of a transportation stream crossing structure. Prospective offerors are encouraged to visit the site before access is restricted by winter weather. Work may include but may not be limited to: stream diversion and dewatering, excavation, removal and disposal of the existing timber bridge structure, construction of a new structure, hauling, placing, and finishing of embankment, rip rap, and crushed aggregate. Material sources for the project will be the McGovern quarry and Farside pit as shown on the attached map. The prospective replacement structure is to be determined and may be a bridge (approximately 56' span) or a structural plate arch (approximately 24' span). Project site is located at NE, NE, Section 3, Range 25W, Township 29N; Latitude 48'18'30.8"N Longitude 114'45'51.8"W - Travel northeast from Marion, MT on Pleasant Valley gravel surfaced road to approximate milepost 5.7. Turn right onto Forest Service asphalt surfaced road #538. Travel northeast on Forest Service road #538 for approximately 13.3 miles to the termination of the asphalt pavement. Turn right onto Forest Service gravel Road #538 and travel north approximately 0.4 miles to the project site. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310 Highway, Street and Bridge Construction and the small business size standard is $33.5 million. A pre-proposal conference may be scheduled when the RFP solicitation has been issued on Fed Biz Opps (FBO). The RFP solicitation will be issued later this winter or early next spring. In accordance with FAR 36.204, advance notices and solicitations shall state the magnitude of the requirement in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range. In no event shall the statement of magnitude disclose the Government's estimate. Therefore, the magnitude is described in the following range: $100,000 - $250,000. The contract time is estimated to begin in the Summer 2015.
