This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is for a market survey only; therefore, no requirement exists so do not request a copy of the solicitation. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The U.S. Air Force, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC has been tasked to identify sources and market conditions for the purchase of hands-free Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) holders for the base fire department located at Seymour Johnson AFB NC. The Government's requirements are: Must be hands-free with no straps or levers Have single motion SCBA insertion Locks the cylinder in place in the event of a collision Retrofits to a variety of SCBA seats No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of members of both the Small Business Community, to include Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Large Business to compete for a Firm-Fixed Price contract to provide the required itme. The contractor shall: be able to provide the above stated item on a brand name or-equal basis (brand name: Smartdock). In addition to the above, responses to this synopsis shall include the solicitation number (FA4809-12-Q-6025) and also the approximate delivery time to provide the items. Please provide technical spec with your response. All submittals received will be reviewed for informational purposes. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must determine and ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors.
