The Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Joint Base Lewis-McChord plans to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to L3Harris Technologies, Inc. for the procurement of 152A 2 Meter GPS radios. This decision is based on L3Harris offering a significantly lower price per radio ($12,120) compared to similar radios purchased by other military branches, such as the Navy and Air Force, which paid prices exceeding $30,000 per unit. L3Harris is a well-established large business supplier of radio systems widely used across Army units, and the new radios will integrate seamlessly with existing Harris communication equipment currently utilized by the 62nd Medical Brigade, enhancing operational capabilities and flexibility. While the contract is set as a sole-source per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), the government is open to receiving responses from other interested parties by August 3, 2020, to assess alternative capabilities before finalizing the award. Responses must include documentation establishing bona fide capability to fulfill the contract requirements. The contract falls under NAICS code 334220 and will be performed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. Government representatives Sheasia Williams and Jason D. McCormick serve as points of contact for inquiries related to the solicitations. The government will not cover any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice.
