The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center is conducting a global market investigation to identify Helmet Systems that offer integrated respiratory protection for military or commercial air purifying respirator gas masks or standalone protection against liquid and vapor NBC agents without requiring a separate NBC mask. The helmet system, consisting of a shell and face shield, must work with blast protective bomb disposal suits, particularly those compatible with commercially available Explosive Ordnance Disposal Ensembles. Key performance requirements include comprehensive head coverage and protection against fragmentation, blasts, and impacts. The design must ensure the face shield can cover both face and mask when in use, and all safety risks associated with the helmet’s lifecycle must be mitigated to acceptable levels, with any health hazards identified. Interested companies are invited to submit detailed product information within 60 days to facilitate the Army’s assessment. Submissions should include product cost, technical and performance specifications, certification details, material data, design illustrations, warranty information, company background, and evidence of ISO 9000 certification and client usage. Firms are also encouraged to send product samples for evaluation, though these will not be returned and no payment will be made. The responses will be used exclusively for market research purposes to inform potential future procurement or prototype development. This announcement does not constitute a solicitation or request for quotations. All inquiries and submissions should be directed to the designated Army contact at the Natick Soldier Center.
