Hermosa Valley Modernization Project

The Hermosa Valley Modernization Project is a forecast initiative by the Hermosa Beach City School District to upgrade existing facilities at the Hermosa Valley School campus in Hermosa Beach, California. The scope of work focuses on Buildings A and C, involving the modernization and reconfiguration of classrooms, instructional spaces, and science labs, as well as improvements to administrative and student support areas. Additional work includes restroom upgrades, fire and life safety systems, utility improvements, and minor exterior enhancements such as canopies and trellises. All activities will take place within the existing developed campus boundaries and will not change the current land use or expand the school site. The project emphasizes compliance with ADA accessibility requirements and path-of-travel improvements as mandated by code. From a regulatory standpoint, the project has been filed with a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Guidelines Sections 15301 and 15311, indicating that the work consists of minor alterations and accessory structures with no significant environmental impact. All construction and modernization activities must adhere to federal, state, and local regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
