Synopsis SDR860-17-Q-0002: Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, will launch the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website when it is available. The Embassy of the United States in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, will issue a solicitation for packing, freight handling, forwarding, cargo storage, customs clearance, local moves, and other related services that apply to general household effects and shipments originating from, consigned to, routed through, and/or moved within the geographic area of the Dominican Republic. The annual estimated weight of packing and shipping services to be performed is 120,000 pounds net. These requirements may change depending on funding availability in forth-coming periods. Anticipated performance is for one (1) Base Year and four (4) Option Years, at the option of the U.S. Government. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. The solicitation will be issued via the FedBizOpps website. The response date in this solicitation is not a firm date; please see the Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the actual date. The U.S. Government intends to award a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable, responsible offeror. The U.S. Government may award the contract based on initial offers without discussion, although we may hold discussions with companies in the competitive range if there is a need to do so. A pre-proposal conference will be held at the Embassy compound, See Section 3 for details. SAM registration is required pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7, and prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of proposals.
