Highway 11 Shabaqua to Atikokan – Close Cut Clearing

The Government of Ontario Ministry of Transportation is seeking a Canadian business to provide close cut clearing services on Highway 11 from Shabaqua to Atikokan. The primary objective of this project is to restore sightlines and clear zones in areas with a high incidence of wildlife collisions. The scope of work includes the clearing of 1,250,000 square meters and the implementation of temporary traffic control staging. The contract is anticipated to start on December 7, 2026, with a five-month term and a final completion deadline of April 30, 2027. The contract will be awarded to the lowest priced compliant bidder following a two-stage evaluation process that assesses mandatory requirements and qualification responses. Bidders must be a Canadian business, provide a nine-digit CRA Business Number, and submit a Domestic Supply Chain Plan. A 10 percent evaluation advantage will be granted to bidders with the highest proportion of Ontario and Canadian made goods and services. Strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and O.Reg. 297/13 is required, and the successful vendor must provide proof of WSIB coverage, tax compliance verification, and necessary insurance.
