The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide a Horticulture Trades Orientation and Skills training program for female offenders at Grand Valley Institution. The work will involve the following: 1.1 Background This program has been provided at Grand Valley Institution for a number of years and it gives offenders skills that they can take with them when they are released. 1.2 Objectives: This training program must provide both education and employability elements, providing women offenders with the opportunity to earn high school equivalency credits, as well as knowledge and skills based vocational training and certification that is industry recognized.
