HUM-96 Drainage Repairs (0P470)

The HUM-96 Drainage Repairs project, managed by Caltrans District 1 in Eureka, involves the repair, replacement, and reconstruction of failed or failing drainage systems at nine locations on Route 96 between postmiles 5.98 and 19.10 in Humboldt County. The primary objective is to improve culvert functionality to ensure a safe and reliable road fill prism. All repairs will be performed in-kind, with existing 18 inch diameter culverts being upgraded to 24 inch diameter culverts to facilitate easier future maintenance. The project will maintain existing roadway cross slopes and drainage patterns, with only minor adjustments to flowline elevations at replacement sites. Classified under NAICS code 237310, the project is designated as a categorical exemption under California Code of Regulations title 14, section 15304, as it consists of minor alterations to existing facilities.
