The contract involves an HVAC controls upgrade project for the Black Hills National Forest Supervisor's Office located in Custer, South Dakota. The scope of work focuses on addressing issues caused by failing pneumatic control valves in the fan coil units by replacing these with digital controls. Specific tasks include replacing pneumatic FCU valves with two-position, normally open valves controlled by wireless temperature sensors, removing and replacing pneumatic thermostats with wireless, non-adjustable space temperature sensors, and connecting and programming these new sensors to the existing Building Control System (BCS). This project aims to modernize and improve the facility's HVAC control system for better efficiency and reliability. The contract, designated as a total small business set-aside, was initially planned for solicitation issuance around May 2018 with an estimated value between $25,000 and $100,000. However, the issuance of the Request for Proposal was postponed due to lack of available funding, and no award will be made until funds are secured. The government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation at any time without liability for costs incurred by offerors.
