The contract involves the use of Aeroseal duct sealing technology to improve the energy efficiency of the air duct systems at the New York Psychiatric Center. Aeroseal's patented process injects a non-toxic, non-flammable emulsion of water and vinyl acetate polymer into the ductwork, where microscopic particles deposit at leak sites to create a durable, flexible seal. This method effectively reduces duct leakage by 90-95%, ensuring minimal air loss across a wide range of operating conditions, including various pressures, temperatures, and humidity levels. The sealing process is designed to address both visible and hidden leaks, providing a long-lasting solution that enhances energy savings and system performance. The contract, awarded as a sole-source to Aeroseal LLC, is scheduled to last approximately five to six weeks, with a project completion deadline of March 7, 2024. It is part of a broader effort by the NYS Office of Mental Health to improve building efficiency within the state of New York. The procurement falls under the NAICS code 812990, indicating a focus on miscellaneous personal services related to the contract's scope. As a single-source award, this contract is exempt from advertising requirements, and any inquiries should be directed to the designated contact person for the agency.

Full Description

Aeroseal duct sealing is a patented technology for sealing visible, invisible, and hidden duct work in commercial applications. Sealant is injected into the ductwork to seal leaks and works from the inside out. The Aeroseal sealant is designed to minimize air leakage from air ducts and exhaust shafts. Aeroseal Ductseal is a stable, non-toxic, non-flammable emulsion of water and vinyl acetate polymer that is aerosolized into 4-100 micron-sized particles and distributed under pressure throughout the inside of the duct system. The particles deposit only at the leak sites and build to form a tenacious and tight air seal, remaining firmly in place for years while staying completely pliable and flexible. Seal remains effective over a wide range of pressures, temperatures and humidity levels found in residential, commercial and industrial air duct systems. The product has been used extensively worldwide in energy savings performance contracts and shown to reduce duct leakage by 90-95%.  Reason for advertising exemption: Single Source Award recipient: Aeroseal LLC Any questions or comments regarding this notice of sole-source, single-source, or procurement otherwise exempt from advertising in the NYS Contract Reporter should be directed to the contact person listed for the contracting agency or public authority.
