AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 423rd Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the new manufacture of the Hydraulic Accumulator with NSN 1650-00-640-8485 and Part Number M5498-1, intended for use on the KC-135 platform. This effort is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10, not a solicitation or procurement action, and no contract award is anticipated based on responses. The Government seeks to determine if the requirement for 33 units can be competitively sourced and whether it is suitable for a Small Business Set-aside, and is interested in submissions from all types of businesses including Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. Respondents must be capable of managing full production cycles including component procurement, inspection, testing, packaging, shipping, and addressing supply chain challenges such as diminishing manufacturing sources and long-lead parts acquisition, with potential responsibility for nonrecurring engineering costs to qualify as an approved source. The procurement is classified under Federal Stock Class 1650 and NAICS Code 336413, which carries a size standard of 1,250 employees. The place of performance is Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, and all communications must be directed to the designated workflow email, 423scms.guea.workflow@us.af.mil. Interested parties must actively select the "ADD ME TO INTERESTED VENDORS" button to participate; responses outside this mechanism will not be acknowledged. The market research window opened on August 4, 2026, and closes on August 12, 2026, with all timestamps in Central Standard Time. No funding is currently available for this research phase, and the resulting data will solely inform the Air Force’s future acquisition strategy, including possible separation of requirements by airframe. Any solicitations or contracts for this item will be issued separately in the future.
