The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to award a delivery order containing a Brand Name description under an existing contract. It is anticipated that the following equipment will be purchased. Two (2) IBM z114 business class mainframes. 128GB of real memory shall be installed in each z114. Twelve (12) Parallel Sysplex Inifiband link (PSIFB-12) ports, or AIDs are required on each z114 to allow existing cables from the processor to connect the new Coupling Facilities. Three Integrated Coupling Facility (ICF) engines shall be enabled on each z114. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue an award under other than full and open competition and should not be considered a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) and is solely at the discretion of the Government.
