AI Contract Overview
This contract covers the procurement of a single ice-making machine, identified by NSN 4110-01-510-2496, to be delivered within 20 days to the USS Zumwalt DDG 1000, with strict adherence to specified packaging, delivery, and inspection requirements. The contract prohibits the intentional use or direct contact of mercury or mercury-containing compounds in the hardware or supplies, except for certain functional exceptions such as batteries and specified instruments. Fluorescent lamps and instruments containing mercury must include shock-proof design with secondary containment. Approved refrigerants for the ice-making machine are limited to R134A and R404A; flammable refrigerants like R290A are not authorized for use onboard naval vessels in food service applications. Packaging and shipment must comply with ASTM D3951 standards and DLA-specific packaging instructions, including MIL-STD-129 marking and palletization protocols. Delivery is FOB destination with inspection and acceptance at the delivery point. The contract references incorporation of technical and quality requirements from the DLA Master List, which takes precedence over standard packaging specifications. Shipment instructions require the fastest traceable transportation method, excluding parcel post. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense Subsistence FSE Supply Chain and is intended for government use only, with contact support provided by Lauren Breisch at the Defense Logistics Agency.
