Currently, there are over 3 million SSI recipients on the rolls and approximate 2 million individuals apply for SSI each year. In addition, SSA conducts approximately 1.5 million periodic redeterminations of SSI eligibility. During both the initial SSI claims determinations and some SSI redeterminations, SSA must obtain verification of real property ownership to determine that resources remain under the specified level(s) Undisclosed real property ownership is one of the causes of SSI improper payments. SSA does not currently have the ability to detect and verify property ownership on the national level. Response Information: In order for SSA to assess a firm's capability, firms must submit a response that provides enough detail to indicate it can provide services that meets the requirements listed above. SSA also requests industry comments on the draft SOW.
