The project was developed under UPC: #115418, #115503 State Project Number 0060-137-176, 0005-137-175 with funding allocations from Virginia Department of Transportation’s Smart Scale program. This project will be locally administered by the City of Williamsburg. The Work under this project consists of removing the existing pedestrian push buttons and installing new Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS) push-button stations. It also includes installing a watertight GPS system in the traffic signal cabinets at the intersections identified in the project plans. At some intersections, the work will include removing and replacing existing pedestrian signal heads, existing pedestrian signal panels, and pedestrian crossing signal heads with the current VDOT standards. The project also includes miscellaneous traffic signals and pedestrian improvements at various intersections, as shown in the plans, within the City of Williamsburg.
