IFB161320 Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal

The Virginia Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the pickup, transportation, and disposal or recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste within the Lynchburg District. The scope of work includes the collection of oily rags and asphalt/diesel mixtures using specified 30 and 55 gallon containers, as well as the pumping and disposal of solids and liquids from oil water separators, floor sumps, and grit chambers. Services are provided on an as-needed basis across the City of Lynchburg and ten surrounding counties, including Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania, and Prince Edward. The contractor must provide services within 10 days of a work order, though emergency situations may require a 24-hour response. Award will be granted to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on a grand total basis. This solicitation is set aside with award priority for DSBSD-certified micro and small businesses, including women-owned and minority-owned firms. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage rates determined by the Virginia Commissioner of Labor and Industry and adhere to all OSHA and federal/state regulations for waste transportation and disposal. Required deliverables include shipping manifests and disposal documentation provided within 30 to 60 days of removal.
