The Naval Air Systems Command is awarding a firm fixed price contract to The Boeing Company for ECP 6476, focusing on the removal of the In-Flight Refueling Pressure Regulator from F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft. This modification involves replacing the regulator with a check valve design currently utilized in F/A-18 A-D aircraft. The scope of work encompasses production non-recurring and recurring engineering, the development of a retrofit Technical Directive, validation and verification kits, validation installs, and recurring retrofit kits. Additionally, Boeing will incorporate this check valve design into new aircraft delivered under production Contract N00019-14-C-0032. These acquisitions are being conducted on a sole source basis under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(C)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, as Boeing is the original equipment manufacturer and sole designer, developer, and integrator of these aircraft. The effort is managed under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001 or its successor. This procurement is part of a broader Class Justification and Approval for F/A-18 and EA-18G weapon systems and subsystems, ensuring technical consistency and avoiding unacceptable delays or duplication of costs.
