The government intends to award a one-time, firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of up to 226 indicator bearings designated as NSN 1430-01-686-3957, part number 13633093, specifically for the MD-6 Patriot Missile System. The initial quantity for the first year is 106 units, with an additional 30 units annually over three subsequent years. This procurement is sole sourced to Honeywell, Inc., due to the lack of suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge necessary for alternative sources, and because the part requires engineering source approval to maintain quality. The solicitation emphasizes that all requests for proposals must be submitted via email, with no telephone requests accepted, and highlights export restrictions on technical data under U.S. export control laws, requiring potential vendors to have appropriate certifications and compliance with the Joint Certification Program. The solicitation, posted by the Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is open for responsible offers from qualified sources, including foreign firms processed through their embassies. The response deadline is December 18, 2024. Interested firms are encouraged to seek source approval for future competitions by contacting the designated government email. The contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), reflecting the urgent need for the item and the sole-source nature of the acquisition. Further details and the solicitation can be accessed through the provided link on SAM.gov.
